We built a house
I wanted to build a simple yet durable house. I especially wanted something that could ride out another typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda. I've been tinkering with a hexagonal design for a couple of years. It's just two stories with 160 square meters interior space. I cleaned up my simple unprofessional drawings, and took them to a real engineering construction company to get an estimate.
They could build the entire project for about 4.5 Million Pesos. This is more than I wanted to spend, so I built it myself.
I hired an independent engineer to draw up the construction plans. I hired the crew myself. I sourced and purchased all the materials, and I did it all for 1.8 Million Pesos.
It took 7 months.
I love my new house. It is awesome.
